Join ceramist Jake Boggs to explore the sculptural possibilities of hand-built ceramics.  In this workshop students will be introduced to beginner and intermediate hand-building techniques that can be used to make personalized small scale or monumental sculptures.  The workshop will cover such topics as conceptual drafting, coil and slab building, the extruder, hand throwing coils and slabs, constructing hollow forms, building sculptural surfaces and an open book of tips and tricks to help students of every level gain a deeper understanding of the medium.

  • 9:00 am to 3:00 pm

  • HPG handbuilding area

Maximum number of students: 15 ***HPG members or current HPG students only at this time***

Cost: $100 (includes a bag of clay and colored slip)

Participants should bring the following:

  • Tools

  • 3'' paintbrush (nothing fancy)

  • An old dinner fork

  • Wooden paddle

  • Lunch, snacks, refreshments
