Cat Figure Workshop

Date:  Sunday, July 28

Time: 9AM-4PM

Place:  HPG upstairs hand building area

Cost:  $50 HPG member, $65 non-member 

Lunch: NO POTLUCK. Please brown bag your lunch or plan to eat/bring back lunch from a nearby vendor.

 

Description: Local artist Maile Yawata returns to the Hawaii Potters' Guild! Maile is
known for her paintings, photographs, and sculptures, often with humorous elements and
references to local culture. For this workshop, Maile will handbuild a wall hung cat
sculpture that is designed to hold something in its front paws. If you want to modify your
cat with a human face or some other fun feature, Maile says go for it!

 

Includes: 1/4 bag of B-mix and bisque firing of completed pieces.

 

Bring: favorite sculpting and carving tools; lunch/beverage for yourself.

MARCH 2019 – WITH JOEY CHIARELLO


Mini Demon Workshop

Date:  Sunday, March 17

Time: 9AM-4PM

Description: Handbuild your own little demon with oni master Joey Chiarello! Add a little flair to your ceramic skills in this one-day workshop. Joey will guide you as you create a small, expressive piece of your very own.

 

Includes: 1/4 bag of B-mix and bisque firing of completed pieces.

FEBRUARY 2019 – WITH ESTHER SHIMAZU


Winged Cherub Workshop

Date:  Sunday, February 3 

Time: 9AM-4PM

Place:  HPG upstairs hand building area

Description: Handbuild a small winged cherub (or demon—your choice) just in time for Valentine's Day! Make a sweet or spicy gift for that special someone or for yourself. Esther will show you her techniques and tips to build a small ceramic piece.

 

If you took Esther's winged boar workshop, this is a good opportunity to brush up on your wing making skills!

 

Includes:  1/4 bag of Soldate and bisque firing of completed pieces.
