The first statewide juried exhibition of ceramic art in Hawaii, Ceramics of Hawaii, will take place from December 17, 2016 – January 8, 2017 at the Honolulu Museum of Art School, Linekona Gallery.
David Kuraoka will be the show’s juror.
Opening reception: Friday Dec. 16, 5:30 – 8 pm
Juror walk thru 4 pm
Ceramics of Hawaii will be open to all artists working in clay in Hawai‘i. Entries do not have to
be new, but must not be previously included in a juried exhibition within the last 5 years. The
exhibit is being organized by Hawaii Potters' Guild with cooperation from other ceramic studios.

ABOUT THE JUROR
David Kuraoka was born in Līhu‘e and received BA and MA degrees from San Jose State University and a Doctorate of Art from San Francisco State University, where he became head of the ceramics department and taught art for 43 years. David maintains studios in San Francisco and Kauai and was named a Living Treasures of Hawaii in 1987.
