Kuliouou Ridge Trail Hike
On Saturday, May 28, 2006, eleven of us hiked up Kuliouou Trail. This popular trail located in East Oahu's Kuliouou Valley is 3.4 miles round trip and reaches an elevation of 1,700 feet.
Members of the hiking party were Brian who lead the hike, Mike, Drew, Sidney, Philip, Masayo, Yoshio, Yoko, her husband Tom, their daughter Monica, and Eric. The day was sunny and the winds were light. Our trek started at 9:20 in the morning and we reached the top of the trail around 11:30. At the top the temperature was cool and clouds were crossing the mountain from the windward side. While the view of Waimanalo was mostly obscured by clouds, we were able to see all of Hawaii Kai. We departed around noon and reached the bottom at 2:00 in the afternoon.
We had an enjoyable hike with spectacular views along the way. The slide show contains some of the manys things we saw during our hike.
